Information about the project:
Project name: Sample Box
Software: Photoshop, Ilustrator, Google slides, Google spreadsheet, Miro, Coggle.it
1. Concept
My task was to create a unique Sample Box for a large printing house. I started by studying third-party Sample Boxes in order to draw conclusions about what are the most important in such a product.
1.1 Checking other solutions on the market
At the beginning, we checked the standards according to which other sample boxes are designed in the printing market. This provided a benchmark for the further development of the concept.
1.2 Brainstorm
In the next step, I brainstormed my team. We chose key stakeholders. Together, we thought about the main needs of these groups. Thanks to this, we discovered what features our perfect "Sample Box" must meet.
1.3 Creating the Sample Box concept and its elements
Thanks to the previous steps, I was able to move on to creating various concepts and technical data for the production of the stencil.

At this stage, I started contacting subcontractors, such as companies producing binders, business cards, etc.
1.4 Task and team planning
After initially accepting the idea for the template and its elements, I was able to start production planning.
The first step was to use a mind map to make sure I was aware of all the important elements.
In the next step, I planned:
- Number and types of tasks
- People assigned to specific tasks
- Initial project implementation time on the Gantt chart
- The budget necessary to complete the project

Resources I had to manage:
- Work of computer graphic designers
- Work of copywriters
- Production work that prints material samples
- Work of subcontractors, e.g. a printing house that prints binders
- Managing the people who were to put the binders together and assisting in the recruitment of these people
2. Prototype
The next step was to check the idea and make a Sample Box prototype.
The first binder without any printing, made according to our needs in the right dimensions.
Technical card test, presenting the materials in the offer.
The first test of matching technical sheets to a binder.
Checking the idea with category dividers.
3. Final Sample box
3.1 Sample Box Packaging
We have created a nice minimalist cardboard that the binder fits perfectly into.
3.2 Binder
3.3 Information cards
Before all the materials, we have put some additional prints that show how the materials can be used.
3.4 Material sample
We put "Sample text" in different sizes on the sample, so that the customer can check which font sizes look best on the material. There is also a white circle to objectively see what shade of white the material has on the sample.
3.5 Technical card
We combined the printed sample with the technical sheet.
One set consisted of over 60 different materials in 3 categories.
Full Set
In total, over 120 Sample Boxes were created.
Additionally, I designed and printed the catalog that we added to the Sample Box.
